Alerus Connect with the Community Scholarship
Four or more $1,000 scholarships gifted annually to qualified students enrolled full-time in any college, university, or trade school in the United States. Priority will be given to employees or clients of Alerus who are enrolled in a North Dakota or Minnesota college, university, or trade school.
How to Apply:
Amount: $1,000
Application Opens: January 1, 2021 at 9:00 AM CT
Deadline: March 1, 2021 by 11:59 PM CT
How to Apply:
- Complete the online application at portal.gofoundation.org.
- Submit a 500-word essay on how giving back to one’s community benefits both the giver and receiver. The essay should not include any reference to your name or your parents.
- Attach a copy of your transcript.
- Attach a personal reference letter from a non-relative.

GFRW Young Leader Scholarship
The Grand Forks Republic Women Young Leader Scholarship is awarded annually to one student who demonstrates a history of leadership, volunteerism, good school citizenship, a strong work ethic, and who has put forth their best effort academically.
Qualified students plan to enroll or are enrolled in any college, university, or trade school in the United States for the Fall of 2021. Preference may be given to female applicants.
How to Apply:

- Attach an 500 word typed essay that answers the following question, "As a leader, what are your highest values?"
- Attach the following:
- A resume including school and extra-curricular activities, community involvement, volunteerism, and special interests
- A copy of your most current school transcript, demonstrating a GPA of > 2.5.
- A recommendation letter from a non-relative that highlights your leadership, volunteerism, or extra-curricular involvement
