Grand Forks Republican Women Scholarship Program
The Grand Forks Republican Women offer two annual scholarships to support students who demonstrate leadership, character, and a commitment to their community.
The Young Leader Scholarship is awarded to one student who exemplifies leadership, volunteerism, positive school citizenship, a strong work ethic, and dedication to academic success.
The Lonnie Laffen Memorial Scholarship is awarded in memory of Lonnie Laffen, a respected Grand Forks community leader, architect with JLG Architects, state senator, husband, father, and Christian. Lonnie lived with passion, valued excellence, and believed deeply in community service and education. He invested generously through his time, talents, and servant-hearted leadership. This scholarship honors his legacy by encouraging recipients to pursue leadership in their own unique way.
